Welcome Back

Welcome to the start of a new academic year:

Welcome to the start of our new school year. Students and staff look very happy to return to school. We particularly welcome our new Year 7 pupils into the family of St Richard Gwyn, and we are delighted to welcome back our senior students, following their GCSE and AS successes, into the Sixth form.

New Staff:

We welcome the following new teachers: Miss Thomas (Head of Music and Performance), Miss Kershaw (Art and Design), Mr Riddle (R.E), Miss Wood (Science), Mr France (Science). We also welcome the following new members of support staff: Sr Sproston (School nurse), Ms Foster (Pastoral admin support) M. Williams, S. O'Neill, M. Hayes, M. Hammond (Teaching Assistants)

Facility:

You may have noticed a few changes on returning back to school. Once again we continued with our programme of refurbishment to improve both inside the buildings and in the school grounds. We are pleased to have fully renovated the Year7,8 and 9 girls toilets. Our next projects will be to improve the other pupil toilets.

ICT:

Once again we have kept abreast of developments in ICT. We have installed new PC's to MFL, Welsh, RE, Business Studies, SEN and Design Technology. The ICT Department have had new PC's installed throughout and Art and Design has a new computer suite.

SRGtv, which is our own TV station launches this term as well as the launch of the new school website. We wish to thank Mr Dean, Mrs Carr, Mrs T.Jones, the elearning group, website group and E4education for all their hard work, commitment and dedication in successfully creating this new website.

Compliment to the students:

Many thanks to all the families for the first class standard of uniform. Appearance is exemplary and all students proudly represent our school. May we take this moment to wish all pupils, staff and families a very successful and happy academic year.
