Curriculum Award 2000
The Welsh Secondary School Association awarded the school one of only fourteen awards given across Wales for Curriculum Innovation. The award was in recognition of the Skills course which has been developed within the school over the last ten years. The course which all Year 7 pupils follow for one hour each week develops the ability of pupils to use and apply learning techniques across the whole curriculum (details of the lessons can be found under ‘curriculum’ on the this website.
Curriculum Award 2003
In 2003 the school was highly commended by the WSSA for the learning to learn strategy which was introduced across all subject areas.
